WARNING!!! - This registry patch has been reported to corrupt Windows XP SP2 installs. Unless you want to reload your system do not apply if you have SP2 of Windows XP.
The following tweak can decrease the amount of time Windows XP takes to boot by several seconds.
Launch RegEdit
Navigate to the following location: [HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SessionManager\MemoryManagement\PrefetchParameters]
Change the DWORD Value EnablePrefetcher
From 00000003 (Hex) / 3 (Decimal) to 00000005 (Hex) / 5 (Decimal).
