To slipsteam an OS:
- View Slipstreaming Windows 2000, XP SP1/SP1a/SP2/SP3, Server 2003 SP1/SP2 (TTID #295)

Preparation

The following items are required:
  • A copy of the original Windows CD/DVD or ISO.

  • A copy of the Boot Files (Downloaded Below).

  • A minimum of 1GB available hard disk space for CD's.
    A minimum of 5GB available hard disk space for DVD's.

Create a folder called OS on your hard drive (C: is used in this example).

In this folder create two sub-folder called BOOT, and ROOT.

Copy the entire Windows 2000/XP/2003 CD (or extract the ISO) into folder ROOT.


Boot Files

1.) Download boot file. (bootfiles-from-tacktech-website.zip ~1.34KB)

2.) Extract the BootSector file (boot.ima) from bootfiles-from-tacktech-website.zip
      into the folder C:\OS\BOOT


Using CDBurnerXP

1.) Start CDBurnerXP.
2.) Select the top option
    Create a new Data-CD/RW,Data-DVD/RW,Video-DVD or create and/or burn
    an ISO image...

Select Disc > Boot Options... from the menu.

1.) Check the Make Disc Bootable check box.
2.) Click the ... button.

1.) Locate the BootSector file (boot.ima) in the folder C:\OS\BOOT.
2.) Click the Open button.

1.) Set Emulation Type: to NoEmulation (NT/2000/XP boot images)
2.) Set Load Segment: to 0000.
3.) Set Sectors: to 4.
4.) Check the Disable ISO File Delimeters (;1) checkbox.
5.) Check the Enforce ISO Level1 (8+3 char max.) checkbox.
6.) Click the OK button.

Select Disc > Set ISOImage Labels... from the menu.

1.) Enter in the Volume Label:.

    - View Windows 2000 CD Labels (TTID# 269)
    - View Windows XP SP0 CD Labels (TTID#226)
    - View Windows XP SP1 CD Labels (TTID#283)
    - View Windows XP SP1a CD Labels (TTID#312)
    - View Windows XP SP2 CD Labels (TTID#342)
    - View Windows XP SP3 CD Labels (TTID#422)
    - View Windows 2003 Server RTM CD Labels (TTID#292)
    - View Windows 2003 Server SP1 CD Labels (TTID#355)
    - View Windows 2003 Server R2 Disc Labels (TTID#387)

2.) Enter in the Volume Set: (Same as the Volume Label).
3.) Enter in the Publisher textbox MICROSOFT CORPORATION.
4.) Enter in the Data Preparer textbox MICROSOFT CORPORATION.
5.) Click the Set Labels button.

1.) Locate the folder C:\OS\ROOT.
2.) Select everything in the C:\OS\ROOT folder and drag it to the compilation panel.
     Note: Some files are not show in the following image.

Select Disc > Write Disc... from the menu.

-OR-

Click the Write the existing compilation... buton on the toolbar.

1.) Check the Mode2XA instead of Mode1 (CDR/W Only) checkbox.
2.) Check the Finalize Disc (No Further Writing Possible) checkbox.
3.) (Optional) Check the Verify data after burn checkbox.
4.) (Optional) Check the Use Buffer Protection (Burn Proof,JustLink,etc.) checkbox.
5.) Click the Write Disc button.

1.) Wait for the Disc to be created...
2.) Click the OK button.
3.) Click the Done button.

Process complete. You're done.
