09.16.2004 - Maxtor Appoints Fariba Danesh as Executive Vice President, Operations

MILPITAS, Calif., September 16, 2004 - Maxtor Corporation (NYSE:MXO) today announced that it will name Fariba Danesh as its executive vice president, operations. Ms. Danesh, 46, was most recently the chief operating officer and senior vice president of operations for Finisar Corporation, a technology leader in gigabit fiber optic solutions for high-speed data networks. In addition, Ms. Danesh has nine years of experience managing the engineering operations of leading hard disk drive companies, including Conner Peripherals and Seagate Technology. In this newly-created position, she will be responsible for Maxtor's manufacturing, materials and fulfillment, and quality functions, as well as MMC Technology, the company's media manufacturing operation.
