04.04.2006 - The Intelligent Platform Management Interface server management system does not work in Windows Server 2003 R2 (KB912134)

View Microsoft related news. You install Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 on a computer that has Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) enabled. However, Windows Server 2003 R2 does not recognize the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) driver that is installed as part of the operating system. Therefore, the IPMI server management system does not work.

The IPMI server management system is defined by Intel together with a consortium of promoters. This consortium also includes Dell, Hewlett-Packard (HP), and NEC. IPMI provides server monitoring and management features.
