Congratulations to the five incredibly talented and distinguished scientists named as finalists in R&D Magazine's annual "Scientist of the Year" award. Of course we're biased, but our vote goes to Intel Fellow and director of the Corporate Technology Group Photonics Technology Lab, Dr. Mario Paniccia. Paniccia is leading much of the innovation behind silicon-based photonic building blocks for future data communications.
